The bus service network is well developed in Mallorca with most of the island being accessible by bus from Palma. It is an easy and cheap way to get around the island.
There are bus services connecting all the major towns and villages as well as local bus services within Palma and other towns. The connection point for all buses is at Plaça d’Espany in Palma and this is also where you will find the Public Transport Information Point. The bus network on the island is divided into five different zones (100, 200, 300, 400 and 500) and each bus line is starting with the corresponding number for the bus service within each zone.

To and from the airport
Palma Airport is the most important entry and exit point for visitors to Mallorca. With a 20 minute journey time, EMT Palma route 1 goes between the Airport and the Intermodal Station in Palma every 16-17 minutes.
How to pay
The bus fares are cheap, around a few euros and you pay your ticket directly on the bus, either a single or return ticket. Please note that the driver may reject to accept payment if you come with a 20 euro note or more. It is recommended to pay with exact money to avoid not being able to enter if the driver does not have change.
For Balearic Islands residents there is an Intermodal Card which provides discount on the prices for interurban public transport in Mallorca (it is not valid for bus transport in Palma). You can get an Intermodal card at the Information Point in Palma Intermodal Station or at the local town hall office.
Timetable
There is a great planner available on the public website of the bus transportation network where you will find also more information about the different lines, prices and other transportation.
