Nestled along Mallorca’s southeastern coast, Caló des Moro stands as one of the island’s most breathtaking natural beaches. This small cove, carved between dramatic limestone cliffs, offers visitors crystal-clear turquoise waters and pristine white sand that seems almost too perfect to be real.
A Picture-Perfect Natural Paradise
The beach features crystal clear, turquoise water accessed via a steep staircase that leads down directly to the sea. Access to the beach requires navigating a steep staircase carved into the cliffside, and visitors should note that no amenities are available at the location. Despite its compact size, the beach’s untouched beauty makes it a photographer’s dream and a peaceful escape from Mallorca’s busier tourist destinations.
The beach sits adjacent to Cala S’Almunia, another stunning cove that’s worth exploring during your visit. Both beaches maintain their wild, unspoiled character, offering visitors a glimpse of Mallorca’s natural coastal beauty before development changed much of the island’s shoreline.
Getting There and Practical Information
Visitors should park at the complimentary parking area near Cala Llombards and walk to reach Caló des Moro.. From there, you walk a distance of 1.5 kilometres to the beach, in about 20-25 minutes. Around Caló des Moro there is just bush and small paths to park the cars. For this reason, arriving early in the morning is highly recommended. Visitors who arrive after 10 AM often face significant parking challenges and crowded conditions.
The beach belongs to the municipality of Santanyí, a charming town known for its vibrant art scene and traditional Mallorcan architecture. The beach maintains its natural, undeveloped character with no commercial establishments nearby. There are no toilets, shops or restaurants near the beach. This means visitors should come prepared with water, snacks, and sun protection for their day trip.
