The famous artist Joan Miró lived in Mallorca from 1956 until his death 1983. During these years he painted a large portion of his famous works. After Miró’s death, his home and studio transformed into the Miró museum, which today is part of the Fundació Pilar I Joan Miró.
The Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca is unique in its kind as it is one of the few museums where visitors can contemplate the artist’s creative surroundings, through direct contact with the studios in which Joan Miró worked during his stay in Mallorca.
The museum exhibits in addition to Mirós work also works of other artists and overall the whole museum shows more than 5,000 works of art. Miró Museum is an absolute must for art lovers and art enthusiasts.
There is free private parking and there is a café in the museum.
